Festival appoints new Artistic Director & General Manager
Supporters of the Heart of Gold Film Festival gathered for a fun evening of drinks, delicious nibbles, fabulous film previews and most importantly, to welcome our new Artistic Director and General Manager. Malcolm Blaylock and Deb Myers mingled with board members, volunteers, members of council and valued sponsors at the Civic Centre in Gympie last night.
Malcolm spoke of the exciting phase the festival is entering. He believes that all cultural festivals experience change and growth, and that this is essential for their survival and indeed, improvement. This theme of ‘onward and upward’ was echoed by Deb, who is thrilled to be part of the festival and can’t wait to get her hands dirty. Deb said she was amazed by the strength and warmth of the volunteers and Gympie community as a whole.
