Since we began bringing cinematic joy to the community in 2006, volunteers have been the beating heart of our festival. They are the smiling faces ensuring that audiences and filmmakers alike have a truly unforgettable experience at the Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival and in the world of film.

There are two ways that you can volunteer (or do both!).

COMMUNITY SCREENERS view and rate every film that is submitted to Heart of Gold. This informs our film program and ensures that our selected films resonate with our audience. You can do this as an individual or in a group. You will be given access to our online platform so you do need to have a computer and internet connection.

FESTIVAL AND EVENT HELPERS are the smiling face of Heart of Gold. What does volunteering look like? Well, you could host an international filmmaker, usher the audience to their seats, decorate our festival spaces, and more.
