Community Screeners are the heart of our Festival and we thank you for volunteering. It is only through the generosity of volunteers that this festival can be staged. You are giving your time to something that we believe is very important – a festival dedicated to bringing positive outcomes. The Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival seeks to enhance the community's cultural experience. It achieves this through positive media interactions, it offers visitors a positive experience with the local community and gives filmmakers an opportunity to have their work screened and judged professionally. The Festival program films are chosen for their carefully crafted, heart-warming stories which entertain and connect on an emotional level with our audiences. The Festival selects films that are positive, uplifting, hilarious, whimsical, nourish and affirm life, explore the human journey in a hopeful manner, highlight prominent issues, and at times, can be challenging and thought provoking. They can shine a light on side-lined topics, people, or regions of the world. As a volunteer you:

Support the aims of the Festival

Agree to maintain the privacy, integrity and confidentiality of the Festival, its records and information including details of film submissions.

Understand and agree that any work created for Festival will be deemed to be the property of the Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival Inc.

Understand and agree that films or intellectual property owned and/or submitted by filmmakers remains the property of the filmmaker.

Will not use the films or intellectual property owned/or submitted by filmmakers in any manner outside of your role as a Community Screener. This includes sharing, copying and showing the work.

As a Screener you will be given access to Film Freeway - this is the online platform that filmmakers use to submit their films to the Festival, our judges use to view and rate films, and how you will view and rate films submitted to the Festival. *

Once you submit this form we will provide Film Freeway with your name and email, and you will then receive an invitation to create a Film Freeway account including creating your own password that no one else will have access to.
